Practice Areas

A good plan for the future is the best way to avoid the cost and distress of legal battles and conflict.  A practice focusing on the areas of law that are constructive and pro-active is a very satisfying one.

You work hard to look after your family and build your dreams.  Protect them.
Wills and Estate Planning

Wills and Powers of Attorney for Property and for Personal Care are an essential and basic element of estate planning, whether you expect your estate to be large or small.

My practice has encompassed  these basic elements, as well as trusts, corporate reorganizations and tax-driven transactions. Business ownership, including shareholder agreements and similar arrangements may play an important role in estate planning and the protection of your family's economic future.

Corporate/Commercial

My corporate/commercial practice has included everything from simple incorporations and corporate structures, through a wide range of matters including asset and share purchase and sale transactions, many involving real estate, such as co-tenancy interests for the ongoing ownership of large tracts of land, commercial financings, corporate reorganizations and the negotiation and preparation of a range of contracts.

Transactions may involve real estate or be tax-driven.  The imagination of clients and their advisors means that the types of contracts and structures covered in one's corporate/commercial practice is continually expanding.

Notary Public

From the straightforward notarizing of documents provided by the client, to the preparation of documents such as Affidavits, Statutory Declarations, certified copies of documentation and Consent to Travel Letters relating to minors, we provide a range of notarial services for your personal and business needs.

Other

When clients own and operate a variety of businesses, or even conduct their daily lives, a lawyer's practice may touch on other areas as a matter of providing better service, or maintaining continuity with existing matters.  Accordingly, while my practice does not extend to litigation, criminal matters or conveyancing of real estate, various other fields of practice may be encountered.  For instance, corporate or personal clients have sometimes required guidance on employment law matters and I have prepared complex employment agreements as well, both standing alone and in conjunction with the purchase or sale of a business.

Business and life do not tend to fit precisely into categories of practice, and I appreciate that in working with all clients.
